What It Means to Work With Me in Individual Coaching Sessions
Working with me means entering a space where your wholeness, your lived experience, and your humanity are fully welcomed. My coaching is not about fixing you—it’s about helping you reconnect to your own wisdom, honor your truth, and move toward your becoming with clarity, courage, and deep intention.
I bring over 15 years of experience as a licensed therapist, somatic practitioner, expressive artist, facilitator, and community organizer. My approach is trauma-informed, embodied, creative, and rooted in politicized healing. That means I hold your growth in the context of the cultural, systemic, and historical forces that shape our lives—not as isolated individual struggles, but as stories carried in the body and inherited across generations.
✨ How We Begin
In our early sessions, we take time to clarify what you want to achieve. Together, we name a clear, grounded goal rooted in what matters to you. From there, we build a collaborative plan—one that is flexible, embodied, and supportive. You will not walk this path alone; we work side by side to move you toward the vision you set for yourself.
As a Black queer woman who has been working in community since I was 18, identity politics and liberation work are not theoretical for me—they are living practices. And while my identity deeply informs my lens, I work with all people. My work is grounded in frameworks that honor difference, uplift dignity, and expand our capacities to relate with integrity.
• Trauma-Informed
Your body, nervous system, safety, and pace matter. We move gently, with respect for the experiences that shaped you, and build capacity rather than overwhelm.
• Somatic and Embodied
Your body is a site of wisdom. We practice boundaries, presence, emotional awareness, and embodied decision-making—not just talk about change, but feel and practice it.
• Grounded in Politicized Healing
Your healing does not exist outside the world you live in. I take into account the cultural, systemic, and structural forces that shape identity, behavior, and belonging. We honor the ways oppression, trauma, and resilience live in the body and in community. Healing is personal and political.
• Harriet Tubman as Model and Metaphor
Harriet Tubman is a guiding ancestor in my coaching approach. I look to her not only as a historical figure, but as a metaphor for what it means to move toward freedom while living inside a system determined to diminish you. Her courage, clarity, strategic wisdom, and unwavering commitment to liberation shape how I hold space:
—to help you see the constraints you’re navigating,
—to honor the danger and the truth of them,
—and to support your journey toward a life that expands rather than contracts you.
• Rooted in Identity, Agency, and Power
I work extensively with identity politics and the ways identity shapes how we move through the world. As a Black queer woman, my work is grounded in lived experience, political awareness, and decades of community practice—yet I work with all people, and I have been holding space in community since I was 18. What matters to me is your readiness to grow, to look inward, and to move toward liberation.
• Creative and Ritual-Based
We may use art-making, writing, visualization, and personalized rituals to help shift stuck stories, awaken imagination, and create new pathways forward.
• Future-Focused and Change-Oriented
Coaching centers who you are becoming. While your past is honored, your sessions focus on skills, practices, and choices that move you toward the life you want now.
